Clinical Review Platform

The Office of Medicaid Innovation, working in partnership with the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS), has developed an automated Clinical Review Platform (CRP) to streamline and improve the access to life changing services for Illinois Medicaid clients across the state.

The automated CRP uses a web-based on-line portal to simplify the process for requesting, modifying, and tracking the status of prior authorizations.

Currently the CRP will be used for managing prior authorizations for Adaptive Behavior Support Services (ABS) and Gender Affirming Treatment Services (GAT).

Providers and/or Administrators acting on behalf of qualified ABS and GAT Service providers, will have 60 days from the effective date of the official HFS notice to complete registration in the new CRP portal.

IMPORTANT DATES:

August 21st, 2024 The automated CRP will be available for use for all prior authorization ABS or GAT Service requests.

August 16th, 2024 Providers and/or their Administrators of ABS and GAT Services must have completed registration in the new CRP portal.

September 30th, 2024 Providers and/or their Administrators of ABS and GAT Services will no longer be able to submit prior authorization requests via email.
